I’m fairly new to hosting with secure shopping cart software. Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap, no contract hosting? I will be selling a product on my website, so I need a software that will provide security for credit card payments. Can someone also recommend the names of the software I will need. Do I need both a shopping cart software and a security software for payments? Thanks!

What makes shopping cart secure is SSL, you need to buy SSL certificate. Try look for softwares under “e-commerce scripts”. Hosting providers to provide auto-installer ecommerce scripts like my hosting provider, KoolHosting.net

- works with link point
- my distributor to get emails of the orders but without to log in with the admin username

I would recommend, first and foremost, that you build your site with WordPress as the CMS. Then I would use a relatively inexpensive shopping cart plugin called PHP Purchase: http://www.phpurchase.com/

I do not know if it works with link point out of the box, but if you send an email to them: http://www.phpurchase.com/contact/ They’ll respond quickly. They did with me.

I currently use 3D Cart for my shopping cart and Order Motion for my order manager. They don’t seem to work well together even though they are suppose to. I need a shopping cart that can securely transfer credit card info over to my ordering system so I can set up auto billing and auto shipments to clients. Or just have the shopping cart do this. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks for your help.

There are quite a number of shopping carts that do provide auto-billing and auto-shipments. The one I’m currently using is called InstanteStore.com (http://www.instantestore.com). They offer a pretty robust auto-billing & auto-shipment option. Don’t think they support Order Motion, though.
